A Kid Run Market

Businesses Started and Ran by Kids

We are looking for youth ages 5-17, with big ideas! Products can be handmade, or you can network for your services. The kids are the entrepreneurs- they will manage their product, market, sell, and handle money.

Booths

Pavilions are a first come first serve basis, other open spaces will be set up throughout the park. Sellers are responsible for bringing the things they need- table, canopy, chairs, etc.

Family's can share booth space and have multiple sellers in one area.

Booths will be free to kids. This is our first year trying this out and want to keep it as low cost as possible. Donations will be taken to help offset any costs and to be provided to the caretakers of our beautiful park.

Leave no trace! Please clean up after yourselves when you leave.

Parent Involvement

Parents can help kids set up the booth and then sit back as the kids do their selling. Remember- this is their moment to learn lessons and grow.

Products

  1. Kids can sell anything! Handmade goods, services, repurposed items, store bought items, etc
  2. Kids cannot sell items on behalf of their parents.
  3. Multi-level Marketing Company products are not allowed (Scentsy, Thirty-One, Tupperware, etc.)

Food Products- Cottage Foods

Food sales are permitted, however they must be low-risk foods, such as, lemonade and sno cones. Otherwise you must obtain proper permits through the health department as food handling rules are in effect.

Cottage Foods is a wonderful program if you are looking to get serious about your home foods business. Follow their protocol and courses to become certified.

Providing a Positive Environment for Growth

This is one of the biggest rules of the entire event. While there may be other vendors selling similar items, it is important for our children to learn to stand out in a positive way. Reiterate with your child to not judge, become aggressively competitive, or put down other co-vendors. Please encourage your child to shop at other booths and shop local for themselves, make new friends and build their community.

Any parent or child not following this rule can be asked to leave.

Check in and Set-Up

Friday evening June 14, you are welcome to come up and see your reserved spot and drop off any items that you wish, however, they will be left unattended overnight. On the morning of the Business Fair, set up can begin at 8am.

End of Market and Clean-up

The market runs until noon, while you may sell out before then, please try to stay until the very end. You may continue to network and shop the other booths.

When it is time to leave please clean up your area. Let's establish a good reputation with our park caretakers so we can be invited back again in the future.
